Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a part-time High School Mathematics teacher to teach Calculus three days per week. The ideal candidate will have a love for God, a love for students, and a desire to help students think critically, grow academically, and develop a love for learning. A strong Christian commitment is essential.
Instructional Duties
- Teach Calculus three days per week
- Provide academic support to students outside regular class time as needed
- Adapt instruction to meet individual student learning needs
- Develop engaging lesson plans and units aligned with course standards
- Use effective instructional strategies to encourage active learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
- Carry out additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Commitment to a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Strong understanding of effective teaching practices
- Knowledge of advanced high school mathematics concepts
- Ability to develop curriculum aligned with academic standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and classroom management
- Comfort using instructional technology
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field required; Master’s degree in Mathematics preferred
Experience & Certification
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification
- Experience teaching high school mathematics preferred
- Math major or minor with (EX) endorsement preferred
