Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a Lunch Program Director to lead and oversee all aspects of the school’s food service program, ensuring nutritious meals, smooth daily operations, and a welcoming dining experience for students and staff rooted in excellence, hospitality, and care.
Position Title: Lunch Program Director
Location: Washtenaw Christian Academy
Schedule: full-time or 3/4 time (28-40 hours)
Reports to: Sarah Wilson (Finance Director)
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Menu and Lunch Room Production: Implement menus, oversee preparation and service of lunch.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Safety & Sanitation: Maintain high standards of food safety, proper storage, temperature monitoring, and general kitchen cleanliness.
- Inventory & Ordering: Maintain inventory levels, order food and supplies, and do pickups of supplies
- Administration: Keep accurate records of weekly food orders, , receipt tracking, spending and revenue of lunch, snacks, and events, monthly billing of families, responding to parents/staff inquiries about lunch
- Event Management – Planning, organizing and implementing several events throughout the year including – school picnic, thanksgiving feast, field day, pastor’s breakfast and senior breakfast
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Commitment to a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Experience: Previous experience in food service management, ideally in a school or institutional setting.
- Certification: Valid food safety and hygiene certifications- ServSafe Certified. – This can be completed after being hired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer software (e.g., Excel), and ability to learn FACTS SIS for lunch orders, menu placement, and billing
- Leadership: Experience managing staff, working with school administration, and interacting with students.

- Frequent lifting, moving, and carrying of items up to 50 pounds
