Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a Middle School/High School Bible Teacher who is passionate about God’s Word and committed to discipling students through gospel-centered teaching, with a desire to cultivate biblical literacy, spiritual growth, and a Christian worldview in the next generation.
Position Title: Bible Teacher (Full Time)
Location: Washtenaw Christian Academy
Schedule: Full-time (aligned with school calendar)
Reports to: Secondary Principal
Instructional & Discipleship Duties
- Teach Bible courses for grades 7–12 as assigned
- Cultivate a classroom environment rooted in Scripture, grace, and truth
- Guide students in developing biblical literacy, theological understanding, and practical application of faith
- Lead students in discussions that encourage critical thinking through a biblical worldview
- Design units and lesson plans that engage students and support WCA’s mission
- Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies that foster active participation
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress regularly with families
- Participate in chapel, spiritual life initiatives, and mentoring opportunities as needed
- Carry out additional school duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of Scripture and strong theological discernment
- Ability to teach the Bible clearly and faithfully to middle and high school students
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to build encouraging, Christlike relationships with students
- Proficiency with instructional technology and classroom learning tools
- Commitment to ongoing personal spiritual growth and prayer
- Agreement with WCA’s Statement of Faith
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Education, Ministry, or a related field (required)
- Teaching or ministry experience with teens in a school, church, or youth ministry setting (preferred)
