Third Grade Teacher
Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a full-time 3rd Grade Teacher who will provide high-quality, Christ-centered instruction while fostering the academic, spiritual, and social growth of students. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and nurturing classroom environment where students are encouraged to grow in curiosity, confidence, character, and faith.
This teacher will help students strengthen foundational skills, think critically, and develop a lifelong love of learning through meaningful instruction and strong relationships with students and families. A vibrant Christian faith and a commitment to integrating biblical truth throughout the school day are essential.
Position Title: 3rd Grade Teacher

Reports to: Elementary Principal
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging 3rd grade lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Teach core elementary subjects including math, language arts, science, social studies, and Bible
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Integrate a biblical worldview across subject areas in age-appropriate ways
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom culture
- Foster student responsibility, kindness, and self-discipline
- Manage classroom behavior with grace, consistency, and care
Student Development
- Encourage academic growth, curiosity, and critical thinking
- Support students’ spiritual, emotional, and character development
- Build strong, caring relationships with students
- Help students develop increasing independence, responsibility, and confidence as learners
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, specialists, and administration
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in chapel services, school-wide activities, and special events
- Attend parent-teacher conferences
- Contribute to a positive and unified school culture

Required Qualifications
- Commitment to a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (required)
- Valid teaching certification (preferred or in progress depending on experience)
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods

MS/HS Math Teacher
Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a Math Teacher who is passionate about helping students develop mathematical understanding, critical thinking skills, and confidence in problem-solving within a Christ-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a love for God, a love for students, and a desire to make math meaningful, accessible, and engaging for learners at the secondary level.

Responsibilities
Instructional Duties
- Teach middle and/or high school math courses as assigned (e.g., Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, or higher levels depending on qualifications)
- Plan and deliver clear, engaging, and standards-based instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a range of learners
- Help students develop problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and conceptual understanding
- Integrate a biblical worldview into instruction in age-appropriate and natural ways
- Assess student learning through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with families as needed
- Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes focus and growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment across grade levels and courses

Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (required)

Bus Drivers
Washtenaw Christian Academy is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Bus Driver. This is a part-time, as-needed position. The people who fills this role will safely transport students to and from school for extracurricular activities, ensuring that each trip reflects WCA’s commitment to excellence, care, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have a cheerful, dependable spirit, demonstrate attention to safety and detail, and maintain a calm and caring demeanor with students. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, meet all required background and driving record checks, and comply with state and federal transportation regulations.

Head Coaches report to the Athletic Director.
This is a seasonal position. The ideal candidate will have a desire to lead our student-athletes to grow in their faith in Christ, to mature in their godly character, to increase their love for the game, and to develop their skills in competition. This candidate should have a strong faith in and love for God, and a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations of the game. This candidate must be able to develop and execute practice and game plans, and must possess excellent oral and written communication skills for interactions with student-athletes, parents, officials, and others in the sporting arena. Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
