Bus Drivers

Washtenaw Christian Academy is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Bus Driver. This is a part-time, as-needed position. The people who fills this role will safely transport students to and from school for extracurricular activities, ensuring that each trip reflects WCA’s commitment to excellence, care, and professionalism.


The ideal candidate will have a cheerful, dependable spirit, demonstrate attention to safety and detail, and maintain a calm and caring demeanor with students. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, meet all required background and driving record checks, and comply with state and federal transportation regulations.

Long-Term Substitute: Ms/HS English Teacher

Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a long-term (6-8 weeks) substitute teacher for middle and high school English classes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature and writing, able to guide students in developing critical thinking and communication skills through a biblical worldview.


Candidates should demonstrate a love for students, strong classroom management, and a desire to help students grow both academically and spiritually. A degree in English, Education, or a related field is preferred. Applicants must have the educational and professional experience required to qualify for a Michigan substitute teaching permit. A strong Christian commitment and alignment with WCA’s mission are essential.

Long-term Substitute: Music Teacher

Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a long-term (6-8 weeks) substitute teacher for  K-12 Music who excels at teaching music to K-12 students. The ideal candidate will have a love for God, a love for children, and a desire to nurture your skilled passion for music into the lives of children. 

Education that includes a Bachelor’s in Music Education with a MI state teaching certificate (JQ) is preferred.  Christian commitment and a willingness to support our Statement of Faith is a must. Please fill out a teaching application and attach your resume.

Long-Term Substitute: Elementary Teacher

Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a long-term (1 month), lower elementary substitute teacher who excels at delivering high-quality instruction.  The ideal candidate will have a love for God, a love for children, and a desire to train students to love learning and to think critically.

Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a state teaching certificate preferred. Christian commitment is a must.

Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans, ability to manage a classroom with grace, and relate well to students, colleagues, and parents.

Secondary Science Teacher (full or part-time)

Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a HS/MS Science teacher with strong curriculum and standards knowledge and the ability to differentiate instruction for all learners. The ideal candidate will have a love for God, a love for students, and a desire to train students to love learning and to think critically. This is a full-time or part-time opening that is available for the upcoming 25-26 school year and beyond. Christian commitment is a must.
 

Qualifications 

Teaching Certificate with endorsement in content area

Understanding of national standards

Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans

Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with others

Demonstrates strong work ethic and exemplary attendance record

Demonstrates effective organizational and communication skills

Head Coach Opportunities

Washtenaw Christian Academy is seeking a Head Coach for the following sports:

  • Middle School Cross Country (early August - mid October)
  • 3rd/4th Grade Boys Basketball (Late October - Mid January)
  • Elementary Cheer (Late October - Mid January)
  • Middle School Cheer (Late October - Mid January)
  • Varsity Girls Soccer (mid March - early June)
  • Varsity Boys Baseball (mid March - early June)

The Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director.

This is a seasonal position.  The ideal candidate will have a desire to lead our student-athletes to grow in their faith in Christ, to mature in their godly character, to increase their love for the game, and to develop their skills in competition. This candidate should have a strong faith in and love for God, and a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations of the game. This candidate must be able to develop and execute practice and game plans, and must possess excellent oral and written communication skills for interactions with student-athletes, parents, officials, and others in the sporting arena.  Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
